JAAGRUTI: BUILDING CASTE AWARENESS

Jaagruti is Dhwani Legal Trust’s flagship initiative on caste sensitisation, designed to challenge caste-based biases and spark critical reflection among young minds. Through interactive sessions, real-life narratives, and open dialogue, Jaagruti encourages students to question privilege, understand systemic discrimination, and cultivate empathy. It aims to build a culture of allyship where acknowledging lived experiences becomes the first step toward justice. Rooted in the belief that awareness is the foundation of change, Jaagruti fosters inclusive spaces that push participants to think, unlearn, and act. It’s not just a programme—it’s a movement towards a more caste-conscious and equitable society.

The session, titled “Is Caste Discrimination a Thing of the Past?”, unpacked caste realities, privilege, and the importance of building safe and inclusive spaces.
