About the Series:Samvidhaan, a ten-part docudrama by Shyam Benegal, vividly recreates the historic debates and events that gave shape to India’s Constitution.
About the Event:We continue the series with Episode 2: Independence — A Divided Legacy. This episode captures the turbulent moment of freedom shadowed by Partition, and the challenge of reconciling a divided past with the vision of a united, democratic India.
About the Speaker:The screening will be followed by a discussion led by Dr. Aparna Chandra (Professor of Law and holder of the MK Nambyar Chair on Constitutional Law, NLSIU). She will reflect on how the legacies of Independence and Partition continue to shape our constitutional promises and democratic journey.
