3rd September 2026: Free Legal Aid Camp in collaboration with MAARGA, at Rajendra Nagar, Koramangala, Bengaluru.

Dhwani Legal Trust conducted a Free Legal Aid Camp on 3 September 2026 at Rajendra Nagar, Koramangala, in collaboration with Maarga, an NGO working with people from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, particularly those engaged in the unorganised sector.

The camp aimed to create awareness about women’s legal rights and provide accessible legal support to women facing different social, domestic, and property-related concerns.

Around 50 women participated in the session. Advocates Archana, Meghana, and Pooja served as resource persons. Advocate Archana spoke about constitutional values and the importance of laws specifically designed to protect women.

She highlighted the need for women to be aware of their rights and the legal safeguards available to them, particularly in situations involving violence, discrimination, and other forms of injustice.

Advocate Meghana spoke about the importance of free legal aid camps and the need to make legal information and assistance accessible to women, especially those who may otherwise face barriers in approaching formal legal institutions.

Following the awareness session, all three advocates provided one-on-one legal consultations to approximately 16 women. The consultations addressed a range of concerns, including domestic violence, harassment, maintenance, property disputes, and access to various entitlements.

The session was highly interactive, in keeping with Dhwani’s participatory methodology. Participants were encouraged to ask questions, share their experiences, and discuss their concerns openly.

Feedback from the participants was positive, with women appreciating the safe and supportive space created during the camp.

The individual consultations also enabled women to discuss their issues freely and receive appropriate legal guidance.
