We are proud to announce the 9th video in our Legal Awareness Video Series by Dhwani Legal Trust in collaboration with Janashakthi Media.
In this video, Adv. Archana Casmir explains the concept of Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in a simple and accessible manner. The video covers key questions such as: What is PIL? Who can file a PIL? Where can it be filed? It also discusses the constitutional basis of PIL and its important role in protecting fundamental rights and ensuring access to justice.
The video highlights landmark PIL cases, including M.C. Mehta, Bandhua Mukti Morcha and other cases, which played an important role in expanding the scope of judicial intervention for public causes and the rights of vulnerable communities.
PIL has helped bring issues affecting marginalised and disadvantaged communities before the courts and has given a voice to sections of society that may otherwise struggle to access justice.
Through this initiative, we hope to make legal knowledge more accessible and encourage greater awareness of constitutional rights and remedies.
