25th February, 2026 : A Public Consultation on Karnataka Health Bill, 2026

A consultation was held at Dhwani Legal Trust in collaboaration with Dr. Sylvia and Akhila from Karnataka Janarogya Chaluvali to discuss the Karnataka Health Bill, 2026. The consultation focused on understanding the key provisions of the Bill, including patients’ rights, responsibilities of private and public healthcare institutions, grievance redressal mechanisms, and regulatory frameworks.

The discussion also examined potential gaps, implementation challenges, and the implications for both healthcare providers and the public. Participants reflected on how the Bill could strengthen accountability and improve access to equitable healthcare in Karnataka.

The consultation concluded with a conversation on the way forward, including the need for wider public awareness, stakeholder engagement, policy advocacy, and sustained monitoring to ensure the Bill effectively serves people’s health rights.
