Legal Awareness

Dhwani seeks to organize legal awareness programmes and workshops in schools, colleges, government agencies, NGOs and corporations.

We look forward to collaborating with governmental and non-governmental organizations having a similar mandate as Dhwani that are working for the all-round development of society in organizing educational events on relevant social, economic and legal issues, with a view to nurture community interest towards realizing legal rights and performing civic duties.

Vidhi's Briefing Book Launch

We were invited to be on the panel to discuss the theme of Institutional Responses to Sexual Harassment at the Strengthening Communities and Building Systems Briefing Book launch organized by the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy at the Bangalore International Centre, Bengaluru.

BIC Hub'ba

We were invited on the panel at the Bangalore International Centre Hub’ba, Bengaluru, along with Alok P. Kumar from Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, Karnataka, Malavika Prasad, legal researcher, and Sudipto Mondal, journalist, to discuss the Citizenship Amendment Act.

We were invited to speak on Ambedkar’s Idea of India by the Swadhyaya Discussion Forum, Kalaburagi.

Anti-Ragging Awareness

We conducted an Anti-Ragging Awareness Programme for the Degree students of the Malleswaram Ladies Association® Academy of Higher Learning, organized by the college’s Anti-Ragging Cell.

'Gelathi'

We collaborated with Supermom at Work (Rujuta Kadam, Lawyer, Mumbai) to bring out an online monthly series on Family Law. The series has been named Gelathi (‘woman or girl friend’ in Kannada).

'Kaanunu Arivu'

We have been appearing on a radio show ‘Kaanunu Arivu’ (‘legal awareness’ in Kannada) on the Constitution and the Law at J.S.S. Radio, F.M. 91.2, Mysuru, Karnataka. The J.S.S. 'Kaanunu Belaku'

We have been appearing on a radio show ‘Kaanunu Belaku’ (‘light of the law’ in Kannada) to explain basic laws to the general public, at Saarathi Jhalak 90.4 Community Radio, Hoskote Taluk, Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Nyaaya | 'Love Laws'

We, in collaboration with Nyaaya, produced a two-part video on laws governing love and relationships in India. Ashwini Obulesh interviewed lawyer and activist Arvind Narrain on the theme.

Laws for Domestic Workers

We, in collaboration with Nyaaya, produced a two-part video with Geetha Menon from Stree Jagruthi Samithi on the legal framework applicable to domestic workers in Karnataka.

Women in Sandalwood

We conducted a session on ‘Women in Sandalwood’ on the ClubHouse App and discussed various socio-economic-cultural aspects pertaining to the representation of women in Indian and Kannada cinema. The panelists were popular actors from the Kannada film industry.

POSH Session

We conducted a session on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act to the non-teaching staff as well as the students of Jyoti Nivas College, Bengaluru.

Human Rights Day at MLA

We conducted a legal awareness programme on the occasion of International Human Rights Day for the Degree students of the Malleswaram Ladies Association® Academy of Higher Learning.

Constitution Rights Education

We conducted a Constitutional Rights education session at the Indian Social Institute, Bengaluru in collaboration with the South India Cell for Human Rights Education and Monitoring (SICHREM). The target audience were grassroots-level NGO workers working directly on social problems in rural areas.

Ambedkar Habba

We participated in the Ambedkar Habba in Spoorthi Dhama, Bangalore and organized a study circle celebrating Ambedkar and our Constitution.

World Social Justice Day

Women's Legal Rights

We delivered a special lecture at KLE Society’s Law College on the occasion of International Women’s Day on the theme ‘Introspection of Women’s Legal Rights in India’.

Ethics & Legality of Torture

We engaged in a discussion with the students of St. Joseph's College on ‘The Ethics and Legality of Torture in India’ on the occasion of the UN International Day in Support of Victims of Torture.
